For background, I have pulled up some entries from below...

Idalarian: I just had an intuition that boozoo appears in that place not before the final battle, but after it when you can go freely around hammond hill. So I decided to beat the game again (while resisting the temptation to check on the english dialogues), and when I checked back to that same place in the haunted house, Boozoo was indeed here, but all he said was ''Provisional message ''. So was the full dialogue placed in the 1,02 patch?

Wildbill: The only changes in the upgrade patches are editing errata we are all catching and publishing on this board, except for a few coming to me back channel. All have been minor except for the switched Spirit letters, the Shop menu overruns, the wrong name "Lucas", and the Terran/Terano question. I am waiting to hear from Draken about Skuruu (PQ) vs. Scroo (L-II).

Wildbill: "Provisional messages" abound in all 12 dialogue blocks. These were contingency strings the developers designed for "overflow", so that story modifications beyond the initial structure would have somewhere to expand. Hundreds were never used, but without tracing, we would not know which provisional message string connects to our invisible Boozoo, but I'm sure it's in Block 05.

Wildbill: Part (or all) of the answer will be derived if I can find Boozoo in my aftergame, and grab a savestate. Then, I will load that state in the Japanese ROM and see if Boozoo is still there. If he speaks "Provisional Message" in Japanese, case solved. If not, this is a very important find! Either way, it's significant.

Okay, here is what I learned:

Boozoo speaks a dozen screens of text in the Japanese ROM! Idalarian, do you remember when you played the Japanese ROM four years ago, if Boozoo spoke 12 screens or just one? This is important, because when I load the English version save-state into the Japanese ROM, Boozoo gives a speech, not "Provisional Message" in Japanese. (Shades of the Pasko bug!)

*Spoiler* The Japanese string spoken by Boozoo is in Block 05, and it starts with this:

*string #0974:
柴尾英令「よく
 こんなところを
 みつけてくれましたね。
 これは あとがきです。

Here is the raw translation:

Hidenori Shibao:"Congratulations for coming all the way here to this place. This is the epilogue."

This is how we wrote it. Look, a provisional message string right in front of it:

.OPEN-FILE C:/Romhack/trans/Lennus/files/Block_05/LNS2_20.DAT
;------------------------;
; ;
;------------------------;
.STRING 0
;
.TEXT
Provisional Message
.ENDT

;------------------------;
; ;
;------------------------;
.STRING 1
;
.TEXT
Hidenori Shibao:
Congratulations, loyal fans,
for finishing Lennus-II!
[key]
This is my epilogue.
[key][newscr]

We've got to try to fix this some way, as soon as we know whether Boozoo is supposed to be speaking a provisional message or as Hidenori Shibao, the creator of the Lennus series.
