I agree, that even with the translations varying in overall clarity, we're still ahead of the "game". The approach we're taking seems to be faster than looking for someone to translate huge dumps of raw Japanese from scratch. What's happening at various moments is fairly obvious from the English words we have at our disposal, but these additional clarifications are fleshing out the dispositions, attitudes, and tones of the speakers.
